Hey Jon, I hadn't heard of Eco Materials but they look interesting. From what I can see about their technology, they leverage Fly Ash - an industrial waste bi-product which certaibnly has some traction and which significantly reduces cement-related emissions (as it doesn't involve the process of converting limestone to lime). Super cool, thanks for sharing!

Hey Sara - I’m had not heard of The Urban Heat Island before, thanks for pointing it out. I would also be curious to understand if certain materials absorb & re-emit heat at higher rates than others

I am curious about the impact of cement on temperatures after it is embedded in the built environment, thinking about the urban heat island effect. Have you seen any research into that aspect of cements contributing to global warming?

Hey Tessa, I read an article about a green concrete company called Eco Materials, wondering if you've heard of them / whether they're gaining much traction? Link: https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkobayashisolomon/2023/11/13/eco-materials-sustainable-green-cement-is-transforming-construction/
